Here I am again with news to share! November has brought in fall weather and exciting anticipation of the upcoming holidays and time with family and friends! We are excited for you all and ourselves too! An early Happy Holidays greeting to you all... beginning with our special VETERANS DAY Holiday where we focus on expressing gratitude for all those who sacrificed much of their life, time, energy, family, health, and more to serve and protect our nation and people, etc.
This past Saturday, I had the opportunity to make my first November Local Author of the Month at the Mesa Libraries. I was there from 1:00 to 3:00 PM meeting and greeting library patrons, especially families, introducing them to my children's books and inviting them to participate in the children's activities I had going...first, to makea VETERANS DAY Gratitude Hat...and secondly, to enter the THANKFUL MERMAID or MERMAN Contest that is going on during the month of November! It was great to meet so many and see their joy in these activities and see their great love for reading books! Here's a couple of photos of the VETERANS DAY Gratitude Hats on their owners! I think they are awesome, don't you?
As for the THANKFUL MERMAID or MERMAN Contest going on this month...here are the details if your children ages 3 to 12 years old would like to enter:
1- On a blank piece of paper, your child draws himself or herself as a merman or a mermaid swimming in the ocean...
2- At the bottom of the paper (or at the top, if there's room), your child writes a sentence about what they'd be thankful for as a mermaid or merman, such as...
"As a mermaid, I would be thankful to swim all over the ocean and make friends with sea animals!" (See sample entry below)
3- Then submit your child's entry with the following information by scanning it all and emailing it to...

4- All entries must be received by Friday night, November 27th at midnight! Winners will be selected on Saturday, November 28th and posted on Monday, November 30th on this website blog page, on our CILLYart4U website "Whazzup, CILLYart?" blog page and on our CILLYart4U facebook page.
There will be 2 first place and 2 second place winners selected and the winning catagories are:
YOUNG READERS: 3-7 yrs.
READERS: ages 8 – 12yrs.
5- First place prize is a copy of TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach, Book 1 of the TWIN TAILS Series!Second place prize is a copy of a TWIN TAILS Book Tote Bag!
These will be shipped to the winners. Other prizes may include a PDF file of the TWIN TAILS of Mason Beach Coloring Book or TWIN TAILS coloring pictures to print out for more coloring fun! These will be sent to the entry email of our winners! Every child that enters is a winner of at least coloring pictures! November is going fast so I hope to receive your entries soon!
